Obviously, a press release is designed to get media attention. But, these are not the reasons freelance writers should use. I’ve been a freelance writer since 1993, and think there are three good reasons to use this form of marketing for writing jobs.
(i) They are search engine optimized content that drives traffic: Press releases are material only. And, any type of content written and published on the web with SEO in mind can increase traffic.
You see, when search engines crawl a site, they don’t care if it’s a free PR distribution site, a blog, a news site, etc. They list the contents. So write them with SEO in mind when you write them – which will help increase traffic to your freelance writing website.
